Beautiful. Big pet peeve of mine is when people comment on a person's small personal game with a critical "review" like it needs to be a AAA hyper polished experience and must follow a capital G game formula. It's like going up to a persons sand castle on the beach and telling them it would look better if the castle was taller and had straight lines. I much prefer hearing about personal reflections rather than graded reviews.
suggestions on itch are great! Nice essay. And Technically i'm curious about using any compiling language with WebAssembly. Obviously, i can use C++, so maybe one day i will be able to write game for browser in C++ or port existing one that i already made.
hell yes! normalize making games as a hobby in the same way people take photos and doodle and write journals and do all sorts of other art for themselves! not every game has to be "the game industry." thank u for sharing this essay! keep makin games ur way for u!
I made an account just to comment how cool this is, thanks so much for putting it out here. Making games for the sake of making them IS a beautiful thing, games don't have to be made to be played, thank you!

Are you familiar with emscripten? It's not simple but it does exactly that, C++ in the browser.

Thank you - glad to hear you appreciated it
I really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing. :)
Thank you - can I ask how you discovered it?
I was looking through my feed and noticed Glenn Essex (https://shinyogre.itch.io/) had rated it, and I thought it looked interesting.
I think it's really important to make art for oneself. :)
